YARA Signatures

MalwareBazaar uses YARA rules from several public and non-public repositories, such as YARAhub and Malpedia. Those are being matched against malware samples uploaded to MalwareBazaar as well as against any suspicious process dumps they may create. Please note that only results from TLP:CLEAR rules are being displayed.

Static analysis of the archived ntpd ELF, 2026-10-24; SHA-256 verified. Symbol commServer at 0x518060 points to literal 64.89.161.96:55487 at 0x414360. initConnection at 0x40bacb loads that server pointer, splits the colon and parses the port, creates an AF_INET/SOCK_STREAM socket and calls connectTimeout at 0x40bbce. main calls initConnection at 0x40bd59. report_to_cnc at 0x40947a independently uses the same server pointer and TCP connection logic. Embedded propagation commands fetch http://213.232.114.14/handshakebins.sh; a separately archived copy of that script is SHA-256 0fad00ddec16b67f3131aa4efffbe32d78fca178407895920b7549667d7bbfbf. Persistence strings include bot.service (description systemd-udevd-worker), /etc/cron.d/root, /etc/profile.d/bot.sh and /tmp/.kworker. Family labels across feeds differ, so this comment records code/configuration evidence rather than asserting a new family. Existing C2 reference: https://threatfox.abuse.ch/ioc/1983173/ . No execution or C2 contact.
