It appeared on my NixOS laptop disguised as a "nix-update" / "nix-auto-update" systemd user service (plain files, not nix-managed symlinks into the store). Reasons I believe it's malicious:
(1) Its C2 is 139.180.189.72 / pytorch-models-cdn.com — a domain I do not know, and that IP has been flagged as #C2 in threat intel since 2025-01.
(2) Heavily obfuscated: garble, buildinfo stripped, C2 domain encrypted at rest — normal tools don't do this.
(3) Installed silently on 2026-10-22 by a scripted burst (no shell/ssh/cron trace), and it even disguised the daemon-reload as "reload fwupd.service".
(4) It's a customized ligolo-ng (reverse-tunnel/pivoting) with added file upload/download + PSK auth + post-quantum crypto — i.e. a backdoor.
I never installed it and can't trace the entry vector. Any recognition of this build or its operator would be appreciated.

YARA Signatures

MalwareBazaar uses YARA rules from several public and non-public repositories, such as YARAhub and Malpedia. Those are being matched against malware samples uploaded to MalwareBazaar as well as against any suspicious process dumps they may create. Please note that only results from TLP:CLEAR rules are being displayed.
